Guidelines For Parents

Respected Parents/Students

Assalaamu alaikum warahmatullahe wa barakatuhoo.

A very warm welcome to Madrasah Arqam ( Qur’aan School ). The following is a list of guidelines which parents and students are requested to adhere to at all times.

Attendance and Punctuality

  • All students must be regular and punctual in attending classes. Only regular attendance along with dedication will help us achieve sound progress and positive results.
  • The doors of the building will promptly close five minutes after the appointed start time
  • Only in cases where prior notification is given of a possible late arrival, will the door be opened
  • Children are not permitted to enter the building unless in the presence of the teacher
  • Students who arrival early are requested to remain in the car until the door is opened
  • Please be aware that the child is only our responsibility whilst inside the building. Should you wish your child to line-up outside the door please ensure they do not run around and are parentally supervised for that duration.
  • Please ensure your child is dropped off and collected inside the secure car park.
  • Once the session for your child ends he/she is no longer the responsibility of the teacher. Your child will be left downstairs inside the building at the main entrance to be collected

Dress and Hygiene

  • Parents must ensure that their child is NEAT, CLEAN, RELIEVED FROM ALL TOILET NECESSITIES AND IN THE STATE OF WUDHU when arriving for the class
  • Children are discouraged from using the bathroom during class times due to time constraints and also disruption of the lesson
  • Under no circumstances is a child allowed to attend class wearing clothing with animate pictures on it ie pictures of humans or animals
  • No shorts, short sleeves, tight trousers or leggings are allowed including during the summer
  • Girls should attend with a properly worn hijaab and all boys should wear a cap. preferred dressing for girls is knee length dresses, shalwaar qamees or Abaaya and for boys is a thaub or qamees
  • Due to the young age of the children there are times when “accidents” happen. In the event of your child vomiting or messing themselves and the carpet, you will be notified and asked to assist in the cleaning
  • Upon arrival at home, if you discover that your child’s clothes are messed and you were not informed by the teacher, please contact the teacher immediately. It is possible that he is unaware of the situation. Your co-operation is vital as this is a matter of tahaarah (cleanliness for the purpose of ibaadah)

Teaching and Learning

  • Please notify the teacher before enrolment, of any child who has special needs with regards to learning as there is no provision for any special needs learner in the class.
  • Your child will be part of a group and therefore it is imperative that he/she attends the lessons regulary. Once a lesson is missed, it becomes very difficult for the child to make up for the missed lesson and may restrict the child’s ability in learning the next lesson properly.
  • Parents are advised not to take pro-longed leave during term, especially whilst the child is still on Qa’idah. Please be aware that upon returning from a lengthy vacation, your child may be transferred to a group different to his/her original group.
  • As time is limited and child ratio to Teacher is at its absolute peak, every student may not get a chance to read every day. This however, does not mean that your child has been excluded from the lesson. Your patience and co-operation in this regard is much appreciated.
  • Please ensure that your child revises their work daily.
  • Unless parents are sure of their own pronunciation and compliance with the rules of recitation and tajweed, they are advised not to teach children at home but rather supervise them while they are revising homework.
  • Parents are encouraged to send in Audio recording devices such as MP3 players to record the lesson. This will help the child revise their work at home by repeatedly listening to the lesson. It will also help parents gain a better understanding of their child’s work. Other benefits will certainly be appreciated by following this advice.
  • The management of  Qur’aan School is making every effort to maintain a safe environment for the students, however it doesn’t accept any responsibility/claim arising from any injury sustained by a student while in school.

Contribution (Hadya)

Cotribution(Hadya) must be paid regularly on monthly basis through the Standing Order. Parents are requested to fill the Standing order Forms and return to the management. Please write Students Nameas REFERENCE on the form for record keeping.
