In the name of Allah, the most beneficent and the most merciful.
In 2002, when several Muslim families arrived in Liffey Valley Park, a need for a “Musallah” was greatly felt. Initially the Muslims were praying Maghrib and Isha prayers in each other’s homes. With the grace of Allah, in 2003 we were blessed with the first “Musallah” in the Liffey Valley Park, Lucan Co Dublin, Ireland. Alhamdulillah, a property on Liffey Road for such purpose was offered by Dr. Javaid Ahmad Butt.
Initially the Musallah was used only for Fajr, Maghrib and Isha prayers, subsequently five time congregational prayers and Dars-e-Quraan was also started. With the grace of Allah, gradually the Musallah fulfilled all the necessary religious obligations including Jumua, Eid and Taraveeh Prayers of the local Muslim community. Classes for teaching Quraan to young children and adults were initiated too. This Musallah managed by a committee which was subsequently registered as “Lucan Islamic Centre”.
In 2007, the organization of Lucan Islamic Centre was dissolved and the Mussalah was run by a Committee, which reorganized the structure and activities of the Musallah. Alhamdulillah due to the effort of the committee and community the following activities take place in Musallah;Daily 5 times prayers, Qura’an and Hadeeth Lessons, Dawah activity and Social gatherings.
With the grace of Allah Subhanaho Wa Taala, the organization running the Musallah was successfully registered by the name of “Daar-E-Arqam Trust” which was subsequently granted a charity status (CHY 19390) on 08 March 2011. Later on Charity Regulator Authority registered it under the same name with a registered number RCN 20076009. Thus, this is the first registered muslim charity in Lucan County Dublin, Ireland.
Recently Daare Arqam was successful in buying a bigger place to be used as a community centre and aquired the keys of the premises on 01 November 2023. This place is located in the heart of Lucan Village at Unit 40 Hills Industrial Estate, Lower Lucan Road, Lucan, County Dublin K78 N7Y4.
